Patrick Cullinan  > Brooklyn > The Myrtle Avenue El > Myrtle Ave El, Oct. 1969
This collection is sorely in need of correction with Photoshop, and I will be working on them in the coming months, God willing. (Now = Dec. 11, 2007.)

The Myrtle Elevated line is dear to my heart because of nostalgic associations with Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, which I attended in the 1950's. Over a period of four years, I traveled the line from Knickerbocker Avenue to Vanderbilt Avenue, enjoying the homely views along the way. I used to be especially touched by windows decked out top to bottom with house plants, which I took to be a sign of a godly dwelling and a reverent hand.
(Some of the photos included here are artistically pointless and serve a purely documentary or nostalgic purpose. Moreover, since these images are hot out of the scanner, I haven't had a chance yet to work them over in Photoshop, which I'll be getting to in a few months, God willing.. You can see a sample of the kind of enhancement that is possible by comparing the first few photos. Enjoy!)
